Leased Line:

Leased lines are used by banks, ATM. Because bandwidth is reserved. ATM will be connected via optic fiber to local office of the Telecom (BSNL or Reliance or Tata).

Big companies like TCS, Cognizant, Accenture use Leased line so that they will get Internet at high speed all the time.

It is like a Point to Point Connection.

You may ask why Leased line is used while normal Broadband or FTTH or 4G is faster, look at the image below

Leased lines are dedicated lines just for your business, this means when internet traffic in your area is high your internet speed will not be effected. Other benefits of a leased line include: increased security, fully managed service with support and easily customisable priorities for the line e.g. VoIP priority over web and email.Leased lines are dedicated lines just for your business, this means when internet traffic in your area is high your internet speed will not be effected. Leased line will have 1:1 contention ratio which means the whole bandwidth is allocated to single office building whereas in normal internet, bandwidth is shared among many users.

The cost of leased line varies from Rs. 60,000 to 2,50,000.
